Why any society should allow this to happen to a child is beyond me.

I am sorry to say you didnt read the article.. you probably just read the headline.

It was the society which called the authorities.. and it was the authorities of the said society who ask the man to remove it as a first step.. I am guessing the next step is that the authorities will take the child from him...

If you read the story well, it also says the society has tried unsuccessfully to adopt the child from the poor family, but the poor family wont give up the child. It is all in the story if you care to read...

have a good one.

I said society because it was not one off. I can assure you that, there are a lot of societies which you wont dream of doing something like this in public.

So, I come back to my initial point, because such things are tolerated to some extent, that is why that man can dream of doing something of that nature.

If the society tolerated that habit they wouldn't have called on the authorities. Where in the stories that it say it was not one off? you are the one saying it is not one off?

When one man ties his child, the society is barbaric but when the same society call on authorities and also tries to adopt the child it is also barbaric.. I see your logics..

have at it

Read the story and you will see it wasn't one off. I repeat, this guy did what he did, because of the society he lives in, because there are a lot of societies, one will not dare do what he did in public.

I sincerely think the brother did not simply understand what he read. Indeed, there is no story in the story as the west always tries to ridicule the east.Mr Ascona, worst stuff than these happen in many places, not to speak of the civilized west. There is nothing alleged in the posting, the elements of the society called on the authorities indicating that the practice is not accepted in that society. What is barbaric about the Chinese society or the Chinese society is barbaric because Mr Ascona says so?

My point is, for someone to do something like this in public, depends on the society they live in, because there are a lot of societies one wont dare do something of this nature.
